When you draw the polygon... you'll already have the points to be drawn for the polygon.... so whats the big deal

i want to run a program to identify the extreme points since i took sketches from children. they size or area of drawn shape is varies from the individual...

Look into something called Convex Hull Generation (ie, Google). There's quite a few resources available for you, and the algorithm is pretty easy to code.

Here's some wiki pages, but you might want to google for more details :)

          Woah, that made me smarter!

Thanks Gary, I spent about two hours on wikipedia after that one.

hi Gary, i do really search for the convex hull as you suggest before. i have found some sources using C#. however, i did not know how to run the sources, could you help me?

i review the code from this link: http://www.discussweb.com/c-programm...n-drawing.html
i really appreciate if you could teach me how to run and see the output. thank you so much

i'm using Visual studio express edition 2008, Visual c#

Can you please tell me what you're stuck with? I don't really know what problem you're having... are you unable to get the code to compile? Is it crashing? Etc...

I'm going to be the bad guy here and be blunt about all this...
Aznimah: You just don't have enough programming skill, right now, to do this project.

I looked back at all your threads. You have had up to 5 different threads going on this one image-recognition/image-compare/convex-hull subject (some have been combined).

Right now this and another thread on convex hull generation come down to the same question: "How do I compile a program?"

Aznimah: i already done the program on shape recognition but it is not work, can someone debug and fixed it, -find extreme points value and convex hull function did not working which it is not giving any image in output in display extreme points and display Beautified Version Does anyone can help me to fixed the problem, i attach the program...
I deleted your thread saying "Here's my entire program that doesn't work, can someone fix it for me" because we don't do that here. Doing your work for you doesn't help you learn.

I have confidence that if you apply yourself you could become a coder. But you need to learn to walk before you can run. This project is too advanced to start with. You need to do as we all had to do: Start with something much smaller. You need to start with a basic "Hello World" type application first, and work your way up to something this complex. Through those simpler programs you will learn how to use Visual Studio.

I don't say this to be mean. Rather for the opposite reason. I fear that by starting out with something this advanced is going to make you frustrated and feel defeated. I don't want you to give up on programming. It's much better to start small and have a success, followed by another success... working up to a project of this complexity.

I recommend the following books to get you going:
