where can I download VS2005?

I'm wondering if it's still possible to download that 90-days trail vesion
of VS2005 from microsoft? If possible then what is the link?

All I find is download for VS2008, but I want VS2005 instead

Any ideas?

You're probably SOL. Every link I found is broken.
I don't think Microsoft typically offers free trials of obsolete products.
After all, the object of a free trial is to entice you to purchase.
You can still download it if you have an MSDN subscription, but I doubt
you'd be asking here if you had one.

Out of curiosity, what is you need VS 2005 for that VS 2008 cannot do?

try to google on Express Edition... Those are free (limited) edtions
for Visual Studio.Net 2005/2008 package.

But this packs are more than enough to start and program a .Net
application....

so google on " Visual Studio.NET Express Edtion"

Download VS2008, it can open VS 2005 solutions and projects with no
breaking changes, and you can select the target framework so no code
upgrade is necessary. There is really no interest using VS 2005.
