How to open .odt files in browser?

Hi,

I am using the following code to open files in browser

 
function OpenDoc(path)
{
      window.open (path,"mywindow");     
}  

<a 
 href="#" 
 onclick="return OpenDoc('<%#DataBinder.Eval(Container, "DataItem.docName")%>'); 
">                                           
Document
</a>

Using this code, I can open ms word document, but cannot open .odt files..I am getting "Page cannot be displyed message".
Open office is already installed on my machine.. so I can open the .odt files directly.
Please help me
