    IIS6 to IIS7.5, now AjaxControlToolkit error

    Moved our web application from W2003 & IIS6 to W2008 R2 & IIS7.5 . One of the first things we discovered was to set the Application Pool in "Classic" mode. However we are still not out of the woods. We are having a AjaxControlTool Kit error. I have attached a screenshot but in summary, the first line of code referring to the AjaxControlTool Kit is flagged in error,

    Type.registerNa mespace('AjaxCo ntrolToolkit');

    The Debugger throws the error text below:

    'Type' is undefined Default.aspx?_T SM_HiddenField_ =ScriptManager1 _HiddenField&_T SM_CombinedScri pts_=%3b%3bAjax ControlToolkit% 2c+Version%3d1. 0.20229.26116%2 c+Culture%3dneu tral%2c+PublicK eyToken%3d28f01 b0e84b6d53e%3ae n-US%3a63cfabab-51ed-48ea-9a51-d25d550c85e3%3a e2e86ef9%3a9ea3 f0e2%3a9e8e87e9 %3a1df13a87%3a4 c9865be%3aba594 826%3a757f92c2% 3a3858419b%3a96 741c43%3ac4c009 16%3ac7c04611%3 acd120801%3a38e c41c0, line 21 character 1

    I have made sure that AjaxControlTool Kit.dll (ver 1.0.20229) is in the \Bin folder of my website.
    web.config section
    Code:
    		<pages>
    			<controls>
    				<add tagPrefix="asp" namespace="System.Web.UI" assembly="System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35" />
    				<add namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" tagPrefix="ajaxToolkit" />
    			</controls>
    		</pages>
    Entire web.config is in attacment also. I am not sure what else has to happen to move to the newer Microsoft platforms?

    Thanks in advance,
    BG

    Did you install the Ajax Toolkit on the server where you moved your application to?

      Downloaded and installed ASP.Net 2.0 Ajax 1.0 extensions

      Frinny:
      I Downloaded and installed ASP.Net 2.0 Ajax 1.0 extensions from this URL:
      http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/e...displaylang=en

      The file is ASPAJAXExtSetup .msi 1.4MB published 3/2/2007. I assume this is the right file. The error message did not change.

      Thanks,
      BG

        Resolved.

        The issue was in web.config. We Went back and got another copy from IIS6 then made the following changes manually.

        REMOVED:
        Code:
        <authorization>
                       <!--<allow users="*" />-->
                       <deny users="?" />
          </authorization>

        <directoryBrowse enabled="true"/>
                                      <validation validateIntegratedModeConfiguration="false"/>
                                      <modules>
                                                     <add name="ScriptModule" preCondition="integratedMode" type="System.Web.Handlers.ScriptModule, System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35"/>
                                      </modules>
                                      <handlers>
                                                     <remove name="WebServiceHandlerFactory-Integrated"/>
                                                     <add name="ScriptHandlerFactory" verb="*" path="*.asmx" preCondition="integratedMode" type="System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptHandlerFactory, System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35"/>
                                                     <add name="ScriptHandlerFactoryAppServices" verb="*" path="*_AppService.axd" preCondition="integratedMode" type="System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptHandlerFactory, System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35"/>
                                                     <add name="ScriptResource" preCondition="integratedMode" verb="GET,HEAD" path="ScriptResource.axd" type="System.Web.Handlers.ScriptResourceHandler, System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35"/>
                                      </handlers>

        And we added this in the system.webservi ce:

        Code:
        <defaultDocument>
                                      <files>
                                                     <clear />
                                                     <add value="default.aspx" />
                                                     <add value="Default.htm" />
                                                     <add value="Default.asp" />
                                                     <add value="index.htm" />
                                                     <add value="index.html" />
                                                     <add value="iisstart.htm" />
                                      </files>
                       </defaultDocument>

        Each time you adjust a feature in the IIS Manager (Ver7.5), the corresponding changes in web.config can break it.
        Thanks, B
