how to scroll in to view the table row which has focus?

i am using asp.net & vb.net. i have a dynamic table showing list of users. i have a search feature which allows users to search for their friends. if a friend is found, i want the focus to shift to the row in the table, depicting that friends details i.e. i want the matching row to be scrolled into view. how can i do this?
any suggestions???

I believe you may have to use a bit of JavaScript to accomplish this.
When the friend is found you will have to use JavaScript to scroll to that record in the table....don't think there's any other way to do this actually.
