Sending SMS through GPRS

Hello All,

Issue is,

I have got a requirement today where in i would have to send SMS through GPRS modem, to be more precise, from PC to mobile. I'm totally lost. Can some one let me know the way to proceed to do the same. I know how to send the general SMS but never done anything with GPRS.

Is there a way to send SMS without using webservice of some external vendor? as in webservex.com and all?

Could someone please let me know how to start off ?

Also you could consider vendor who expose web services to send sms messages..
