AJAX Gridview Modal popup

Hii experts,

Im tring to display a panel as a modal popup when i click a link button which is placed in the footer template of my Grid view.But its not getting compiled and the error its showing is

"The TargetControlID of 'mpeAddParticip ant' is not valid. A control with ID 'ParticipantMee tingID' could not be found"'mpeAddParticip ant' is the id of the modal pop up extender and 'ParticipantMee tingID' is the id of the link button which ic placed in the footer template of the grid view.

i tried of giving any other control which is out side of grid view thn its working fine...

Plz suggest me the solution...

I think this is a limitation on how the Modal Popup control works.
The control can only work with controls that are on the page, not within another control.

1. Put the ModalPopupExten der in the cell together with your LinkButton.

OR

2. Dynamically assign TargetControlID on Page_Load. E.g.

if (!Page.IsPostBack)
{
   ModalPopupExtender1.TargetControlID =
      GridView1.FooterRow.FindControl("LinkButton1").[B]UniqueID[/B];
}
