Processing in Code behind or Business Layer

Hi,

I need to do some general purose processing like massaging the Datatable etc which we need to do to format it.

I would like to know if it is more efficient to do such general purpose processing in code behind or in the business layer?

Do you mean backing up the database and then apply changes so that you have can restore if things go pear shaped?
