Save Excel into database and retrive back as excel file

Hi,
I would need to save a whole excel file into 1 field in SQL2005. i have created a field with varbinary(max) in a database table. can someone please help to advise how the excel can be translated into binary? and save into that field?
after that i will need a link to let user click to retrieve back the file as excel. any help?

the asp feature you are looking for is called ADO stream. Check it out, if it isn't obvious, post back and we'll try to help you some more.
