There is some kind of issue manifesting itself when my web application is accessed and presented as a frame in another web page. When accessed in this manner, the web application that is the frame sometimes appears to mysteriously lose values in a form. What’s worse is I can never see it happen first hand. It happens regularly enough to others (external users) that it is a problem however. The following code is central to issue:
if Request.Form("s ubmit") = “Login" then
Session("vOpID" ) = trim(Request.Fo rm("operator_id "))
Session("vPIN") = trim(Request.Fo rm("pin_num"))
end if
Simple code. Right?
This code is one of the first commands executed in my ASP module and is merely filling session variables from the login form to use for authentication. When the problem occurs, the authentication fails because the variables are not set properly from the Request.Form. This only happens sometimes. That is to say, sometimes there is something causing the data to get misplaced or overlayed in the form (or so it appears).
When I have received calls from users reporting the problem, I tell them to access the page directly, rather than going through the web page that would show my web page as a frame. The problem disappears.
Is there ever any reason why the Request.Form variables would sometimes mysteriously get overlayed? If so, then how do I prevent?
