I currently am running Access 2003 on a Windows 7 computer. I am getting a new computer Windows 8.1. My understanding is that Access 2003 is not compatible. I have purchased Office Professional 2013. I don't see anything on converting a 2003 file to 2013. Any help would be appreciated.

Access 2003 is compatible with Windows 8.1, it's just out of the support window with Microsoft. Not only that, there have been some great improvements since 2003.
Conversion from 2003 to 2013 shouldn't be much of a hassle. The difficulty will mostly be determined by the complexity of a database you currently have. If it's a simple database It's quite possible that the database can be opened an used immediately. If there are code and macros, there maybe some things you might need to address, especially the References. Most errors you get will be well documented on the internet either here or other helpful sites. If you run into something you can fix, just ask a question here.
The best advice I have is to make sure you make a backup copy of the database any time you attempt a major change to it so that you can rollback if it breaks or you don't like the results. ...Make more backups than you think you will need. -
If I remember correctly, 2013 no longer supports the older file formats. You will need a utility that will upgrade the formats to the newer format or use either office 2007 or 2010 to convert to the newer format.Comment
