    swayamprakash,
    Welcome to Bytes.com.

It is generally helpful to include information about what version of Access you are using when you make a post. Your question is very clear to me since I am wondering what highlighting you are talking about. Design view option ... are you looking at Intelisense in VBA code? Or something on the GUI?

Sometimes I don't see Design View on the View menu dropdown. In that case I right-click on the form name and choose Design from the context menu that appears. Or open the form and right-click on the form back-ground to get the same option.

Did you convert it to an accde file?

Given that you got this form from a friend, we can say you don't know anything about its makeup or history. So there may be something inherent in the form, but I don't know how to make that so.

Can you make or edit any forms in this particular copy of Access? Not every version or every installation of Access can do development tasks. Do you get a warning when you enter run the Access program "this copy of XYZ is read-only", something to that effect?

And as per Rabbit's question, are you running this form in something.mdb or something.mde or something.accde or some other file type?
