Storing value from combo box into a web table

I have a combo box with a full name and empID. I see both in the drop down, but I wish to store only the ID into the record when saved. New to web forms Access 2010, a number of controls are not available.

Not many of us use the webforms since active server pages were removed from ACC2010 forcing us to the sharepoint servers (which sucks); however, this will provide some challenge so if you will work thru the basics with me perhaps we can both learn something new. (^_^)
