    Access 2007 /MOSS 2007/Excel 2007

I hope someone can assist me. I am about to pull my hair out. I have numerous Excel sheets that departments upload their latest data to. EAch area maintains their own and only wants to upload copies. My end users simply want to be able to search thru this data and update their Access database based on this external data. Also have Sharepoint lists. I initially created a simple Access form and linked 1 table for proof of concept. POC was to show that users can download the Access application. They can get the latest data and run searches on the data. It worked fine. I added a couple more sheets and other tabs on the main form and it worked fine...initiall y. The past couple days it has performed HORRIBLY. I removed the last subform I added going so far as to remove the last query. Still no performance gain. I cannot open a form or switch to design modes without it taking 5-15 minutes. Sometimes it says it cannot connect to the SP location. Not always though. Does Access continuously relink the data. This is very frustrating. If anyone can assist me I would be extremely grateful. I have a week to get this project completed as it was working and too late to switch tactics. Just an fyi form my searches and things I have trie to fix it (set default printer to Windows XPS, set query inside form load and set recordsource to " on unload, compact/repair) and no luck.

    Thank you,

    Dave

    More info

    Dave,

    Welcome to the form!
Before we get too much farther in the thread have you taken a look at Asking Questions and the links therein?

I feel for you... nothing worse than haveing something that was working now fail. However, from what I can tell, you've simply not provided enough information to help you with the problem.

There could be issues with the database
There could be issues with bandwidth on you network
There could be issues with the sharepoint server
There could be issues with the format (data-type) of the information being uploaded
    There could be... (insert problem)

So you really have multiple problems and their associated questions.

As you have Sharepoint lists setup... is it possible to move them from the Worksheets to entering the data directly into the SPL?

Thank you so much for replying. I was so frustrated as I'm sure my email showed. I searched again yesterday and had not tried to turn off TrackName Auto Correct Info. I found this after some digging, turned it off and restarted. Initially it was still a little slow but SOOO much better now. Thanks again for replying. And I don't know if I explicitly searched the site - I may not have - I navigated to so many sites from Google I can't remember :)
