    Can you pull reports

We are looking for a tracking system where you can pull a report everyday of what dates/tasks need to be taken care of. Does Access have this function? We are currently storing information in excel but to the best of my knowledge you cannot pull a report.

    Thank you.

Are you trying to generate report of future task from Access Database tables using dates?

      That's a fairly open question...
Let's say you're doing preventative maintenance work, you can certainly create a database that keeps track of the current work, work completed, and then based on completed work dates schedule new dates... and so forth.

As you have such an open question... if you have MS Access, you might start here if you're looking for something "off the shelf." http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/te...010214400.aspx. These may not be the best templates in the world; however, they will give you idea as to what can be done with Access. The best thing about these templates is that you can say... well this one does almost what we need; however, can it be modified to do.... that question either for people here or your inhouse DBA

Once you see what is there, you can start to design your own database that will do what you need... there are several steps to good database design. You can google these, several good books out there, and of-course some resources like here. One of the most important aspects is the normalization of the underlying data... http://bytes.com/topic/access/insigh...le Structures. I can almost guarantee that your excel data is not normalized in the least little bit.

Once you get a chanc to look at things, post back if you have any more questions.
