My company is moving its data center to another location and keeping some of the business functions at its current location which will become a remote site (ie, one file server onsite). There will be a direct connection between the two locations.
We have many Access databases (2002) that pull information from different data sources and export them to different data sources for reporting purposes. These servers and data sources will be moving to the new data center. The question is, where should the Access database be located, closer to the applications or closer to the users?
Should we have the users go across the network to the Access database, or should we have the Access database closer to the user and have it make the calls across the network?
