I use ms-access database, however the author has long since gone. The menu bar has been reduced to min functions and I am unable to generate any reports.
How can I re-instate full functions?
There are several ways to hide/modify the menu bars of an access database.
First, what is the filetype of your database? Mde, mdr, mdb, accdb, accdr, accde?
The second thing to try is to open the database while holding down SHIFT, this will override any startup code/macros PROVIDED the shift bypass has not been disabled. (It can be re-enabled). Please try this, and report back whether it had any effect.
It might also be good if you could provide a screenshot of your GUI when the application is open, it might help us to better understand what might be affecting your database.
Finally what version of access are you using, and it would also be nice to know how proficient you are with access and VBA in general.
We are not allowed, by the rules of the forum, to help you to break into anyone's database. There are plenty of places to find what you need if your intent is as innocent as you say, but we don't like the idea of making such techniques any more public than they already are. Smiley's point of using the ByPass key is one of the more general and public ones anyway, but I'm afraid that's as far as we can go in the public forums.
