I have a date field on the form which is to be used as an optional selection criteria. How would I display this date field with a blank value when I open the form?

This seems a strange question Sue. How else would it be displayed if the control is unbound and unset (as surely it must be if you intend it for such usage)? -
Right now instead of showing blank, it displays "#Name?". In the default value field, it has a value as =""

Certainly. First get rid of the formula in the Default Value property. If there is anything in the Control Source you can get rid of that too (as implied forcefully in my first post (#2)).Comment
