How to scan Access databases to check if it use network share for create files?

Is there a possibility to scan MS Access 2000 databases and their VBA code automatically? We need to scan several MS Access databases in network drive to check if they use network shares to create or read certain files.

Is there any tool or freeware is available to do this scanning?

Please let me know...its very urgent.

I dont know exactly what you mean by network share, but you could write code to loop through all files on a network drive, and select those with .mdb or .accdb (and so on) file type. Then you can loop through their contents if the files are not password protected.

I have fumbled around and created some EXAMPLE code.

Its attached in this mdb. What it will do is check the E:\
drive + subfolders on that drive for .mdb files. It will then check if any of the tables in that database is linked to a file on a network drive R:.

Of course if you use it you should change the hardcoded E:\ and R:\ as appropriate.

If you want to switch this into something more workable you would probably need to include other file types then just .mdb, and tbh I don't know if they have their tables stored in the same way. I also caution you that it can take quite a while to run :P

EDIT: Thanks to Allan browne for the code used to search for .mdb files on the E drive.
