Query all entries that contain user text

I would like a query that will search for all column entries that contain a user's input. For instance I have 1 column that contains numbers such as 6149.2243 and 6149.8965. The user will search for 6149 and I would like both entries to be returned.
Is there an easy criteria entry I can make to make the search return both results? My current query will only return exact matches.

    Thanks,
    Mike

I don't think that you can create a Query that will search every single Field, in every Record, for a Partial Match on User entered criteria. I could be wrong since SQL is definitely not my strong point, but just wait and see if anyone comes up with a viable solution for you. This can, however, be accomplished relatively easily via code indicating exactly what Fields, in what Records, partial Matches exist. If you are interested, and if someone does not come up with a better solution, just let me know.

I think i might have worded my question badly. I have a table, Change List, and within that table one column is called 'Change ID'. The column Change ID is a field in the record. I want a query that will return all results from the column 'Change ID' that contain the search string entered by the user. I was hoping that I could put a criteria in my query that would return all items in that field that contain the user text.

        I actually just figured it out. In the criteria i put, Like '*' & [ ] & '*'
That returned all results from the field that contained the user input string.
