    Hi, try these two options:

A: Find the total within the subform first then display that in the report.

At the form footer of the subform, create a text box called txtgtotal and calculate the total:
    Code:
    =[B]Sum[/B](Text1693)
Now, in the Report simply access the GrandTotal :
    Code:
    =[Copy of WIP Form]![B]txtgtotal [/B]
    ............... ............... ............... ............

B: Or alternatively,i n the report if the text box name of
    Code:
    =[Copy of WIP Form]!Text1693
    is txtdisplay, then

    In the Report footer
    Code:
    =[B]Sum[/B](txtdisplay)

I'm sorry but I'm a little confused... Are you trying to total the totals on several different forms generated by a form in and of themselves?

There is only 1 form Copy of WIP ,contains 1 field as "RM"..This form is inserted as subform in the Main Report..In this Report need to display the grand total..but the
        Code:
        Sum(txtdisplay)
        gives an error..

So all the numbers you need totaled are on the Report then. Could you give me the names of all the fields you are trying to total, and maybe a screen-shot of the report and form (if there is no sensitive info showing in the report/form)?
