How to save the access database tables , queries , forms , reports and VBA code ?

    Hi All,

Please tell me the best solution to implemenet security in access databases , to save the tables, queries, forms , reports as well as the VBA code from user access.

The users of the application should only be able to work using the application frontend.

I have read about various ways to implement security in access database at http://msdn.microsoft. com/en-us/library/aa139961(office .10).aspx.

For example i password lock it , i have to share teh password whoever wants to run the application, again everything is open.

For example, i lock only the modules and class modules, again teh tables , queries are accessible to my users.

So which is the best solution to implemenet security in access databases , to save the tables, queries, forms , reports as well as the VBA code from user access.Only developer should be able to access everything.

At http://msdn.microsoft. com/en-us/library/aa139961(office .10).aspx. , what i want is only possible by the "Secure an Access Database with the Security Wizard" option.

Is this the best solution for what i want?If not which is the best solution and how should i implement it.Along with teh above requirement , if i aslo want ti implement version control of the VBA code for the application, how do i go for it?

    Thanks in advance

    Possible Solution

    Dear Titli
Based on your post, I assume you are using Access 2007 as earlier versions didn't have problems with security I guess. You just mentioned the solution. Use different Frontends, that is by creating different frontend to each set of users. you can protect anything you want in this way. Most important, you might want not to give the ability to users to access the Ribbon, Office Button, or Navigation Side and then lock the database. By doing this, you can play around in the way you want and apply any limitations you wish.

    hope this helps,

    Regards,
    Ali
