What do you mean by "the null columns" Debbie?

I have an access query that I am export to a excel spreadsheet. I the query there is a column with all null values. I can not hide that query column since it has all null values. So on the excel spreadsheet when it opens can the column with the null values be hidden. My code to export the query to an excel sheadsheet is DoCmd.OutputTo acQuery, "QryFSforOutput ", "MicrosoftExcel Biff8(*.xls)", "", True, "", 0

Is there I way I can hide that column with null values in my spreadsheet when it opens?

There should be, but my guess would be that it would be more easily accomplished by changing the query so that it doesn't include the column with all Nulls. Am I barking up the right tree here do you think?

I wrote a union query that combines 3 columns into 1 column. The 3 fields that made up the columns have names. When I run the query I get the right results (see I had criteria). How on the query can I can the column name to the right criteria selected. I know I can not explain myself well and it may not be possible but thanks.

I understood everything you said up to the beginning of the quoted text. Unfortunately, from this point on it's like Martian.

If you could just repost this, but read it first to ensure it makes sense, I'm sure we can help. If nothing more than to tell you it's not possible (in which case I suspect there'd be other ways around it).
