How to reset autonumber to 001?

How to reset autonumber to 001 when the day changed? because i have a textbox with a combination of date and ID w/c is autonumber. example 072310-001
the format of date is mmddyy. i have a records of 072310-001, 072310-002, 072310-003, 072410-004
i want to reset the id to 001 when the date becomes 072410.
Pls. help me how can i do these thing?
