access app is creating 2 instance connections to the DB and we do not know why

i have an access application, using vba to use pass thru queries, Oracle DBA has created a global temp table that will create automatically when connected to the users instance.

    Issue:
the access application is creating 2 instance connections to the DB and we do not know why. this is an issue because the 1st instance inserts all of the data into the GTT then when selecting (querying) the data the application creates a 2nd instance and we do not have access to the GTT data.

    thanks in advance

Are you working with attached oracle tables via a localised external DSN? or working internally to the access application appending in code with DSNless connections and so on. If you are working in VBA have you searched through the code to see if any DSNless connections are being made?

If you are persisting any passthroughs and basing a SELECT on that then check the queries in the database window and go into the design view SQL window of any such query and check the DSN string in the properties window. Without looking at all your code scope and db object count, its pretty much guesswork am afraid.

We are using pass thru queries and have been searching thru the code and queries trying to find out why our application creates 2 connections (instances) to the Oracle DB.
All of the DSN strings are exactly the same and work fine in all of the pass though queries.
      Any other suggestions?

      Thanks
