Prompted for a user name and password when creating a new database

I upgraded to Access 2007 this summer, but didn't have a need to use Access until now. When I go to create a new database from a blank database template it prompts me to enter a user name and password in order to create the database.

It does the same thing when I try to open 2003 databases. I've never put a user name and password on any of my databases, so I have no idea why this is happening or how to make it stop.

I imagine the reason is somewhere in what you haven't told us. Clearly that will be difficult for you as, had you known what to tell, you'd probably have understood the reason for the problem anyway. However, we're still working in the dark somewhat here.
