    Access start up form?

When I was using earlier Access versions (nearly ten years ago, and I've forgotten a lot) I remember there was a way of specifying a form as the "start-up form" for a database, so that it opened as soon as the database opened. I can't find where to specify this in Access 2007. When I try to open the "packaged up" database I just get a blank window, and the only menu option on the office button is to close the database!! How can I make my Main Menu form come up when the db is opened?

Well I don't know about Access 2007, but in 2003 version you click Tools->Startup and there you can specify your startup form, as well as the aplication title.

I'm glad you are "Smiley" because I'm a prat! I found out how to do this within seconds of posting the message, and was just about to come back and apologise when I got your reply.

BUT, for future ref, in Access 2007 you have to go to Options on the main menu, choose Current Database, and set the start up form there (where it says "Display form"). Well, I suppose they constantly change everything just to keep us on our toes?

I had a quick look at Access 2007, and im kinda dreading the day I will have to learn it. :)

But so far all my clients are still using 2003, so no sweat yet. So far all I have noticed making me want 2007 is the ability to use Rich text fields.

Im glad you found a solution to your problem!

Don't worry, Access 2007 is so similar to previous versions that it's a bit of an anti-climax! They do just tend to move stuff around on the menus, which is a pain. Apart from that, and the Help system being totally, completely, madly useless, not much change.

By the way, if you have a good textbook on Access 97, don't pay out for the new "Bible", called "Access 2007 Inside Out". It is truly horrible and hasn't even got a decent index. I've answered all my VBA problems using my old 97 Macro and VBA Handbook. Could have saved 50 dollars.

click the office button present on left top corner
            click access options
            select the tab current database
            select the display form
            then OK
