File format worth changing (2000 - 2003)?

I have a db with lots of code and forms etc, all written in access 2003, however file format is 2000.

is it worth changing, any benefits?
would it cause problems (with code or otherwise)?

Hi. There is no real benefit to changing the file format, unless you are intending to change your MDB file to an MDE format (in which all the VBA source code is removed, and certain other features (forms for example) cannot be altered by users). You would need to convert to A2002-3 file format to use the MDE option (first introduced in A2002).

No other benefits of A2002-2003 format come to mind (as there was little change from a file perspective from A2000 to A2002-A2003 format), so I'd leave it alone if you are not going the MDE route.

By the way, the default file format set by A2003 is A2000 for compatibility reasons, but this can be changed from the Tools, Options, Advanced tab to make A2002-2003 the default instead.
