Access Scheduler with calendar

This seems to have been done a lot. I am a novice with Access so please don't feel bad talking to me like a 2 year old. I am trying to make a scheduler that would allow me to pick a day on a calendar, which would bring up all reservations on a editable form.

This was on the web and it looked very promising. Unfortunately this is an mde so I can't use it as a template and I can't afford to buy it. Here is a link to the free trial: MS Access Database Template - Download Scheduler Database Demo

The only think I need on this the scheduler module. I am looking for something similar with all of the features with out totally ripping this guy off. If some one could help I'd appreciate it. I have read some of the other calendar threads and I haven't gotten one I can successfully modify.

I appreciate that you are coming at this from a perspective of little experience, so let me explain that what you are asking for is a project of great time and effort.

I think you can forget about anyone posting what you want here.

If I haven't yet put you off from taking on this project yourself - DON'T DO IT. It will be a lot more trouble than you expect.

If you've been asked to do this by a superior at work. Show them this. It is totally impractical for anyone but a very experienced programmer with a lot of time on their hands.

I don't expect someone to do it for me but I thought with as many requests someone must hae done something similar. I know I shouldn't do it but now I'm determined. I hate to drop $100 dollars on this but I will if I have to

You already know how I feel about it. I doubt there'll be many others willing to spend their time on such an open-ended question, especially as most of any experience will have come across questions like this before.

NeoPa is right on the money! The last post I saw looking to do the same ran to over 90 repsonses without figuring the problem out satisfactorily. There are commercial programs out there that will do the job, but they will cost, for the dsimple reason that they took hundreds if not thousands of man hours to develop!

If you are willing to do some programming on your own you could get a start with an app ADezii uploaded here http://bytes.com/topic/access/answer...ccess-calendar

It doesn't have everything but it is a start. Give it a try. Id ownloaded your demo one and it is about the same as the one ADezii uploaded.

Just to back up what the other guys have said, a scheduler is quite a job and not for a beginner. I created one recently that has the look of Outlook with some functionality that is in Goldmine, ACT, and Outlook and I will tell you it is not for the beginner.

I highly recommend if you want to try on your own to download the one ADezii uploaded and learn and work from it.
