    A2003, Access 2000 file format

My A2003 makes an Access 2000 file format by default. When I go to make
it a .mde I have to convert to A2003. That process looks to have been OK
and then when I select 'Make mde' Access hangs then fails.

How can I get access to make a 2003 file format from scratch?

    With thanks to all,

    Samuel

Functions -Settings -page Advanced -Standard fileformat (not sure
about the name in english, I'm using a danish version)

On the (classic, pre-2007) Access Menu, Tools | Options | Advanced | Default
File Format will let you change that option. As I am definitely not a fan
of Access 2000 (though I admit that it is usable and more-or-less stable
when all three SPs have been applied), and have no users/clients who need an
Access 2000 file format, I changed that default as soon as Access XP was
      available.
