Best bet with Access 2003: Apply only SP2 or apply SP3 with hotfix?

I'm in the progress of upgrading from Access 97 to Access 2003. I've
read about some of the bugs introduced by Office Service Pack 3:

I've also seen the KB945674 hotfix:

Does SP3 cause more problems than it solves? Would I be better off
installing SP2 (and not SP3) or installing SP3 along with the hotfix?

I wonder if zombies had followed you to upgrade from 97 to 2003 in the
first place ?

Here's a link to a MS page where you can download an Excel spreadsheet
delineating issues that SP3 addresses, as well as problems commonly
encountered after installing the service pack.

I think common sense would dictate if the issues SP3 fixes are likely to be
helpful to you and the, so far, unresolved problems with ti won't bother you,
then install it. Otherwise, leave it at SP2, as I have done.

I have no idea what "rummie" even means, but that's not unusual. He seldom
offers anything but snide comments, and frequently even those are
incomprehensibl e.

Thanks to everyone for their responses.

My reason for upgrading is the inevitability of Vista. I had to jump
through a few hoops just to get Access 97 installed on Vista
(Business) and the first time I tried to connect to a backend MDB on a
network drive I had a problem. That didn't give me much confidence in
the Access 97/Vista combination, particularly since I'd read that
Vista breaks Outlook 97.

Have you (or anyone) used Access 97 successfully on Vista in a
networked environment with no compatiblity issues? (Maybe I should
start another thread with that question, eh?)

I've experienced no issues with SP3 once it's fully patched.

There are several hotfixes for Office 2003 SP3, can't remember which
specifically relate to Access. I had several sites (who had Office updates
running automatically) who reported big problems when SP3 was released; in
fact they had to uninstall/reinstall Office 2003 'cos that's the only way to
get back to SP2. However, they are all running SP3 now, with all the
hotfixes, and all is well.
