    Microsoft Access programming to Quickbooks

    Dear people,

I have a question as I am fairly new to this...
As I have a programmer who is programmed our accounting software using microsoft access. Now we want to purchase Quickbooks, but is it possible to still program into microsoft access e.g. for our next project i gave him the assignment to create a payroll program and he will do it in access. Is it possible to convert the data from microsoft access to quickbooks?
    Awaiting your reply.

    Regards,

You can easily convert Access data to Excel, and then use a third party product costing less then $125 to convert excel to IIF format for import into Quickbooks.

IIF Conversion Tool (converts Excel to IIF for import to QB's)

See post #5 of 5 at this link for an overview of Access to QB conversions.

the message regarding IIF files does not apply to current versions of QuickBooks which no longer support IIF importing methods because they create too many internal errors.

If you visit QODBC.com you will see a fully functional read/write ODBC driver for QuickBooks data that allows your access programmer to add invoices or most any data you need direct to QuickBooks with a 2 way live link.

      thanks!
