Possible to convert "05012008" to a Date?

Doesn't look like Access 2003 has many date functions or a character
to date function.
Any ideas?

I think I got it using DateSerial IF I can convert "05012008" to
"080501" (May 1st 2008)

Nevermind. I have the client save the XLS into yyyymmdd and use
DateSerial.
