Can't view jpg images after XP reinstall

I've had to reinstall XP (groan) and all my applications incl Access 97,
Office 2000 and Access 2003. In doing so I believe I have installed all
the graphics drivers, but my database (97) cannot display jpg images in
an image control. It can manage bmp OK, but not jpg. Any suggestions?

Also, I used to be able to open a db in the correct version by right
clicking in Explorer and selecting Open With .. then had the options of
    Acc 97, 2000, 2003. I not longer have these, and if I specify a
    particular file e.g. C:\Prog File\Office 2000\Office\MSA ccess.exe, it
still tries to open with the default - Acc 97. Any ideas on this?

Re: Can't view jpg images after XP reinstall

The probability is high that previously you installed Office 97 Pro, or Word
97, so the graphics support was installed along with it. Graphics support
is not a feature of Access 97, so likely the proper versions of the DLL are
not installed, even though the proper versions for Office 2000 and 2003
    are/may be.

It is very likely that setting the proper reference could give your Access
97 app access to the newer version of the graphics DLLs, but I do not know
what reference you should set for this purpose.

Maybe someone else can tell you what reference to set... alternatively, you
could reinstall Office 97 Pro, make sure the graphics support is installed,
then uninstall any of the Office 97 programs that you will not want to use.

      Hi Larry,

I've uninstalled everything, then reinstalled Office 97. Still could not
view jgp. Unistalled Word/Excel/PP, then installed Access 2000. Same
problem. Finally installed Office 2003 incl all apps and image options.
      Still can't view jpgs in 97, 2000 or 2003.

JPGs open OK in MS Paint, MS Office Picture Manager, ACDSee, but not MS
      Photo Editor.

My Open With ... Acc97/Acc2000 Explorer function has returned, but only
for mde files, not mdb. And Access 2003 does not appear.

Somewhere in the Office installation procedure, there's an option for
installing graphics support. I thought that was automatically selected if
you were installing Word, but it has been some time since I installed Office
        Pro 2000.
