There are many kinds of applications that might be considered to be web
    solutions.

Do you want me to be able to navigate to http://yourwebsolution.ext and be
able to use your database, with only my browser as a hosting application?

Perhaps, you would be happy with an application you deliver which would be
like your Access application but allow me to access the data from anywhere
in the world over the internet, but if you don't give me the application,
    there is no access.

These are very different. The first is quite challenging; the second is
not so challenging. I think it would be helpful if you thought about and
answered these questions before you commit yourself to SQL-Server, or any
    technology at all.

I too am very concerned with the spam and am becoming disappointed with
Google; I've referred on a bunch of spam to them with no results whatever.

Here's how to get rid of GMail spam before it hits your spam folder. From GMail, click on
Settings | Filters | Create a new filter. In the "Has the words:" text box enter:
"is:spam" without the quotes, the click the Next Step button. Click OK when you get the
warning dialog box. Check the "Skip the inbox" and "Delete it" checkboxes, and click on
the Create Filter button. That's it! No more spam!!

Does that prevent Gmail account holders from posting spam to newsgroups?
That is the practice about which I am concerned.

You're a funny guy, Jackweed. If you don't like the advise, you know what you can do.

There was nothing wrong with the advice except that it had nothing to do
          with the issue being discussed.

Ok, these may be newbie questions. Can the spam messages be deleted on the
server, or are they stuck here forever, once posted? It would be nice if
there was a moderator that could go through and clean up the messages. It is
difficult sometimes to pick out the good messages (especially here lately).
And I really don't know what the "cmsg cancel" ones are about, but they are
particularly annoying, as they just add to the clutter.

Did you describe how we could read newsgroups on gmail? I must have missed
                          that part.

Reading it on Google Groups is pretty slow.

No. I described how to turn off Google Spam email before it hits your Spam folder. The
technique I described (which works well) sends Spam directly to your Trash folder where it
is automatically dumped in 30 days. The end result is, there is no Spam to be bothered
with as it all goes to the trash, where it belongs. Google denies this works, but trust
                            me, it does.
