glitch with vertical text in report print preview?

i have a thread posted elsewhere but it got long and messy. this is all that needs to be seen:



the report looks great until i take it from report view to print preview.

the numbers that are on the left hand side(which are replaced with ##### due to an error i'm trying to get to the bottom of) are in the same exact format as the data on the most righthand side, "0651463132168$ ." as you can see, i copied some of the header (label) text, replaced it with typical currency numbers and put it in the detail section and it prints fine. the numbers to the right of the ##### is the same exact format with the only difference that its vertical property was instead set to "no." i've tried deleting and re-adding the fields to no avail. even starting blank reports and still nothing.

i have a feeling that i found a glitch. if anyone could provide an alternate solution for what i'm trying to accomplish or can solve my current dilemma it would be much appreciated.

What kind of printer is setup in your default printer in windows?

If it is something that is not a common printer, HP, or Lexmark, or a major brand name, then chances are your printer driver is not installed correctly, or that the fonts that you're using for that printer are NOT available from that printer to use.

thanks, joe for your reply. i have used three different computers with many types of printers and ended up determining that it isn't a printer issue but it is indeed a glitch that microsoft has acknowledged but has not made any corrective action.

i have run out of ideas of how to simply display the date as a column header in my report. any ideas anyone??

UPDATE:
i might have found a solution. apparently changing the font to Arial CYR does the trick. on a side note, i tinkered with changing the fonts before, and a single time when i changed all the text to a certain font (i believe it was Arial) a single row actually came out of the printer correctly but never displayed in the print preview. this is what led me to believe i was dealing with a bug in the first place.

once i get to work tomorrow i will try it out and post an update. i'm using access 2007 so i'm hoping that added variable does not interfere with the workaround.

ya, still not working. mainly b/c i don't have the Arial CYR font. i haven't found a free download of the font yet. instead, every website i go to wants ~$30 before i can download it. and while it's tempting, i really don't want to lay the money if i don't have to. does anyone know how to get this font for free?
