Multiple pieces of data in one field

    Hi,

This is might be a basic question, but is it possible to hold multiple
pieces of data in one field?

I am adpating a database which compares multiple projects against a
number of criteria. One of these is the business function that the
    project is sponsored by.

I can set up a form to allow users to specify which of the range of
business functions sponsor which project but is it possible to store
multiple functions per project in one field in the table or will I
have to have as many fields as I want to store pieces of data.

Eg can I have a Field called "Functional Project Sponsor" containing
    "Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations"
Or do I need additional Fields "Functional Project Sponsor 1"
    "Functional Project Sponsor 2" etc

All I want this data for is to view which functions are sponsoring a
project. To enter all functions in one field rather than numerous
    fields would be preferable.

    Thanks,

    Will

No: you should not enter all the functions into the one field.
No: you should not use many fields for all the functions.
