pivot tables have stopped being editable

Hi all,

I created a pivot table that allowed users to select certain customers from a drop down list and display the relevant data - it worked fine but has now stopped allowing them to do that.

At the same time, I can no longer create a Pivot Table with page, row or column fileds. All of the Pivot Table menu items except Refresh Data have greyed out.

I've tried creating a new db with a simple table and pivot and it is the same issue, so not related to the actual database, but MS Access config I guess.

I am using Access 2002. I have read editing MS Access Pivot Tables using Excel but now of the selection items appear on my menus.

Any ideas how I turn things on again?

For anyone with the same problem - re-installing Access didn't work but reinstating the whole of the MS Office suite did.

I still don't know what the underlying issue was.
