HI. I happen to have hidden built-in menu in START and I cant not restore it to it default state. This means I cannot use tools to modify my database.

Can someone have an idea on how you go about this stuff.

You mean you have managed to hide Start(Button) -> All Programs -> <Some Menu> ?

They only way I can find of doing this is to hide all items within a menu folder.

Try this

1. Open Windows Explorer
2. Enable viewing of hidden files, Tools->Options...->View (tab), make sure "Show Hidden Files and Folders" is checked.
3. Navigate to c:\Documents and Settings\<Your User Name>\Start Menu\Programs
4. Look for the program you are missing if it is hidden then it will be shown washed out. (If you can't find it look in c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs)
5. Right Click and select properties from the menu
6. Uncheck the "Hidden" attribute at the bottom of the properties page
7. Click "Apply"
8. On the "Confirm Attribute Change" dialogue that appears make sure "Apply changes to this folder, subfolders and files" is checked
9. Press OK
10. Stop messing around with your start menu

As an addendum to Banfa's comments, it's possible from the limited amount you've told us that one or more of your items on the Start Bar are simply hidden temporarily. If you see any downward facing chevrons then click on them to see more items.

Is there any chance the database you are using is an mde and not an mdb? If so the database is compiled code and can't be altered.
