    LINKING excel to access 2003

    Hello,

I have a question. I have a small database that keeps track of work that a contractor is doing for my company. Once a month I attach the database in an email and send it to the contractor so that they can enter some numbers in a couple of text boxes. Once they enter their information, they re-attach the database to an email and send it back to me.

There's GOT to be a simpler way to do this. Can't they just send me a spreadsheet every month with a couple of numbers in it? Someone told me that there is a way to do a linked table to excel from my database to "update" the numbers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks in advance.

    In Access 2003:

File Menu>Get External Data>Link Tables. This opens a dialog box allowing you to browse to the spreadsheet you wish to link to (You need to choose the .xls option at the bottom of the dialog box where it filters which files to display). This opens the Link Tables Wizard which will guide you through the rest of the process.

    Good luck!

    Regards,
    Scott
