Special Effects for MS Access button controls

Hi there, am wondering if there is a way to have my buttons on the splash screens that I developed look BETTER. Would like to have them really stand out when someone opens my database.

Can someone please help me with this???

Thank you VERY MUCH for your assistance.

Create custom images and use image controls instead of buttons. Create custom pictures for your buttons. Choose larger fonts and/or different font colors. I often use rectangles slightly larger than the buttons and set the rectangle properties to shadow. I also layer rectangles to get a variety of effects. Buttons aren't the only thing available users can interact with. I have even set splash screens on a timer.

Not 2 much u can do with the buttons. But you could create button type graphics in a drawing program and use those instead of the default Access buttons.

Esentially anything that has a "Click" event can be used as a button. One thing I do fairly often when I want my buttons to match the color scheme (or change color) is place a label under a transparent button. The you can use the following events of the button to control the whole thing:

Click: This is of course is where you'll put the action you want the botton to carry out.

On Mouse Down: Setting this event to change the appearance of the label to Sunken (or other, but I normally make them raised by default) so it appears the button has been depressed.

On Mouse Up: This of course is where you'll up the opposite of the mouse down code so it appears the button is popping up.

This is a real simple way to change the color and appearance of buttons without having to get into custom graphics. Just remember it is not hard to spend as much time making Access not look like Access as it is in the actual programming of it (stole that bit from someone here.. sorry don't remember who, but they're right).

        Hope this helps.

          Mshmyob,

I've sent you a PM (Private Message).
To access your PMs simply click on the blue link at the top of any of your pages where it says 1 PMs. Obviously the number may vary, but you get the idea.

Have a look at this. These fancy Buttons were download as a result of a prior, and very similar Thread, and are available for distribution.
